How to use Picks
Players always ask " What's the best way to use your Picks?" Picks can be used on all available wagers. You can play Daily Doubles, Pick3, Pick4, Pick5, Pick6, Quinella, Exacta's, Trifecta's and Superfecta's. I personally like to play Daily Doubles, Pick3 - Pick4 wagers. The first mistake we all make is wanting to play every type of wager available in every race, that's a sure recipe for losing money. I rather make those wagers when I've hit a few races and have the tracks money and not my own. Let's not forget we are betting on a horse race where anything can happen and it usually does. I've seen the best of horses who looked unbeatable on paper having the best trainers and jockeys and still lose. There's no such thing as guarantee winner or horses that can't lose, trust me on this, I've been playing this game for over 35 years. This is why when I play I use multiple horses in each race to gives me a better chance in cashing a winning ticket. It may cost a bit more but my chances of cashing a winning ticket are much greater than using one horse.
Daily Double, Pick3 & Pick4 wagers are one of the best values in horse racing, this is why I am a strict Daily Double, Pick3 and Pick4 player. I will play the Pick5 and Pick6 wagers if I can get at least 2 Key stand alone horses in the string of races to bring my cost down. When favorites don't win any of the races in the Pick3 or Pick4 races is when you get the best payoffs, but excellent payoffs could be had when second and third favorites win. Keying a single horse in races I pick as Best Bet normally do well but then again they are not guarantee to win so my advise is to use the top two Picks with a field of 6 or less horses, the top 3 picks with a field of 8 or less horses and all picks with 9 or more horses in each race when playing Daily Doubles, Pick3's - Pick6's.

You need patience in Horse Racing. Our goal is to try and make a small profit every time we play. There's good and bad when using Best Bets as your stand alone Pick. The bad part it must win their respected race, the good part it saves you money when they do win. There are days I hit all my Best Bets and there are days I hit none. The odds of hitting every race on the card are slim to none although I've been known to ACED complete cards more than the law of averages will allow. Our goal is to have consecutive winning races, there are many times we could have 7 or 8 winners on the day and not make any money because those wins didn't come consecutively. To start I recommend playing the Daily Double, to me it's like a Pick2, when you have built a bankroll you can start playing Pick3 & Pick4 races.
I will be the first to admit I have bad days where I can't pick my nose, it comes with being a handicapper. I normally don't have more than 2 consecutive bad days because I tweak my handicapping daily, something computer picks can't do!. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, anything can happen in horse racing and today could be your lucky day so why not give it a try, you never know. I've had plenty of new players who got lucky and caught me on a great day where I've ACED complete cards or had 8 & 9 winners on the day and have cashed 6 -7 Daily Doubles and a couple of Pick3's & Pick4's.
